On the outskirts of Teignmouth are the beautiful villages of Shaldon and Bishopsteignton that capture the true essence of Devon life.

To the south rests Shaldon, a glorious fishing village built on land reclaimed from the estuary opposite Teignmouth. Over the years Shaldon has been versatile and adapted to many changes in commerce but nowadays with its glorious sandy beach, lined with boutique shops and cafes, and with surrounding land protected by the National Trust, tourism is pivotal. The village enjoys a colourful array of pubs and restaurants and hosts many exciting events throughout the year in what is a very friendly and social community.

To the north west of Teignmouth lies Bishopsteignton, a hillside country village with a history that dates back to the Stone Age. The original parts of the village contains stone buildings that have stood for hundreds of years whilst the outskirts are populated with more modern homes that have been built or renovated extensively in the past century. Bishopsteington enjoys a more sedate existence than Shaldon with more modest local amenities, although both feature well regarded primary schools.

Both villages have a vast range of large and well-kept homes, many built to maximise their panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and river scape. Easy road access to Teignmouth, Newton Abbott and Torbay allow many residents to commute to work whilst returning to these peaceful villages to enjoy a relaxed home life.

Devon Rose have managed properties in the heart of these idyllic villages for many years and appreciate the different requirements of properties in these sought-after areas. Through experience we understand that picturesque and historic properties require a different approach to maintenance and perhaps even a different type of tenant, if you want to nurture long and rewarding tenancies for their landlords.
