As you may have heard in the news, MPs voted against a proposed ban on tenant administration fees this week. The intention of the proposal was to protect tenants from hidden and extortionate fees applied by agents prior to the commencement of their tenancy. Ultimately the proposal was rejected but the government has agreed to implement stricter rules on agents with regards to advertising fees in advance.
Devon Rose currently offer amongst the lowest fees out of all our local competitors. Whilst we obviously believe it is important to be remunerated for the work we do, we recognise that high fees for potential tenants will lead to increased void periods and potentially unhappy tenants. We already advertise our fees in all our marketing and on our website to ensure complete transparency.
