DEVON ROSE COVID-19 POLICY FOR TENANTS

Dear Tenant,

Due to the rapidly evolving situation throughout the UK we are monitoring all government guidelines and recommendations as well as medical advice. As a result, Devon Rose will be implementing some changes in the way we work in order to protect the health and well-being of our team, contractors and tenants.

Until further notice we respectfully ask that all queries and reports of maintenance issues are conducted via email or phone unless you feel it is strictly necessary to visit the office. Please be aware that all maintenance will be graded in order of priority. All maintenance deemed to be an emergency will be prioritised and a suitable contractor will be sourced to the best of our ability. Any maintenance deemed to be a non-emergency will be risk assessed and completed at the discretion of the contractor.

Each contractor will have their own policy for safe working. Please follow any instructions that they may have, failure to do so may result in the planned maintenance being cancelled.

If you are self-isolating please do not report any non-emergency maintenance until you can safely accept visitors into your home. If you have an emergency please make it clear that you are self-isolating or have displayed symptoms of Covid-19 so that we can appropriately appraise the contractor before they attend.

It is also important to remember that toilets will get blocked if you flush items that are not suitable down them – please do not use anything other than toilet paper! If your toilet becomes blocked please note that you are required to organise the repairs yourself at your own cost.

Periodic property visits conducted by Devon Rose will be suspended until further notice. If a periodic property visit is due then we will contact you by email/phone and conduct it remotely.

We are suspending the provision of spare keys to tenants and contractors until further notice. If you have reported a maintenance issue then you will be required to be home to let the contractor into your property. If you have locked yourself out or lost your keys you will be required to contact a locksmith at your own cost.

We are temporarily suspending all cash and cheque payments made in the office. If you normally come to the office to pay you will now be required to set up alternative arrangements - please speak with your bank to set up a standing order or bank transfer so that your payment is received electronically. Please ensure that your name is quoted as the reference so that we can attribute your payment to you, and choose the correct bank account emailed to you.

We are aware that it is a very turbulent time for many of our tenants and job security may be an issue. If you have been negatively affected or have any concerns about making your rent payments please let us know as soon as possible so that we can keep your landlord informed.
